Documents Required

 Documents Required (Common for All Categories)

• Completed visa application form (short-stay or long-stay, as applicable).
• Valid passport (with at least 2 blank pages and valid for 3 months beyond the return date).
• UK Residency: A UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Two passport-size photographs (white background, taken within the last 6 months, meeting biometric standards).
• Cover letter explaining the purpose, duration, and details of the study in Italy.
• Proof of travel reservations (flight/train bookings directly from the carrier).
• Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation, rental agreement, or host invitation with ID copy).
• Travel insurance (€30,000 minimum coverage for medical emergencies and repatriation).
• Proof of finance (3 months’ UK bank statements showing stable transactions).
• Passport copies (first page and previous visas for the last 3 years, if applicable).
• Certified translations (for non-English/Italian documents).

Important:

• Screenshots/photos of documents are not accepted.
• All documents must be printed in A4 format.

Category-Specific Requirements

1. University Enrolment (Full-Time Study) (Long-Term Study)

• • Pre-Enrolment Form
  • Declaration of Value/CIMEA/Diploma Supplement (as required by the university).
  • University Admission Letter (addressed to the Italian Consulate in London).
  • Proof of Finance: Minimum £8,800 per year (UK bank statement from the last 3 months).
  • For Minors:
    • Original birth certificate (with certified translation if applicable).
    • Notarised, apostilled parental consent letter (naming the person responsible for the minor in Italy)

2. Exchange & Mobility Programs

• • Acceptance Letter from the Italian University (issued within the last month, detailing the course, duration, and hours).
  • University Confirmation Letter (UK) (stating the exchange program as a mandatory part of the UK curriculum).
  • Proof of Inter-University Agreement (signed by both institutions).
  • Proof of Finance: Minimum €500/month (UK bank statement from the last 3 months).

3. Italian Language/Culture Courses (Independent Study)

• • Acceptance Letter (from the Italian language school, issued within the last month).
  • Academic Transcript (from previous studies in the applicant’s home country).
  • Proof of Finance: Minimum €500/month (UK bank statement from the last 3 months).

4. Internship Programs

• • Internship Agreement (signed by the promoting institution and the Italian host organisation).
  • Internship Project Plan (in line with Italian labour law – Art. 18 of Law N. 196/97).
  • Transcript of Studies (confirming academic background for the internship).
  • Proof of Finance: Minimum €500/month (UK bank statement from the last 3 months).

5. Professional Training Programs

• • Enrolment Letter (from the accredited Italian training institution, specifying duration, course content, and credentials).
  • Academic Transcript (from the applicant’s previous studies).
  • Proof of Finance: Minimum €500/month (UK bank statement from the last 3 months).

Proof of Finance

• Personal bank statements (3 months) showing sufficient funds to cover living expenses (€500/month or £8,800/year for full-time students).
• If sponsored:
  • Sponsor’s bank statements (3 months).
  • Sponsorship letter (from an immediate family member).
  • Proof of relationship (birth/marriage certificate, legalised if foreign-issued).

Travel Insurance Requirements

• Minimum coverage: €30,000 (emergency medical expenses, hospitalisation, and repatriation).
• **Must be valid across all Schengen countries.
• Must cover:
  • Entire study period (for long-term visas).
  • At least 15 days for short-term visas.

Proof of Travel

• Flight/train reservation (from the official carrier).
• Car travel: Car registration, insurance, and Eurotunnel/ferry bookings.
• Multiple destinations: Provide travel bookings for each Schengen country visited.

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel reservation (for at least the first 15 days).
• Rental agreement (for longer stays).
• Staying with family/friends:
  • Invitation letter (with host’s ID/passport copy).
  • Host’s residence permit (for non-EU hosts).

Important Notes:

1. UK travel agencies can only be used if direct booking details from the carrier are provided.
2. Translations and legalisation: Documents issued outside the UK must be:
   • Translated into English or Italian.
   • Legalised by the Italian Consulate or the relevant UK authority.
3. Certificates older than 6 months are not accepted.

Submitting incomplete or inaccurate documentation will result in rejection and will require a new appointment.

The Italian Consulate reserves the right to request additional information or schedule an interview at its discretion.
